In the winter of 1968 (after 4 years of playing cover material), our band (going by the name of Indian Summer) went into a recording studio for the first time.  The studio was owned by a gospel singing family in Atlanta, the LeFevre Family.  We recorded and mixed seven songs in 4 hours, since we couldn't afford any more time.

The band members were Matt Shealy, Drew Nesmith, and me.   Drew played the drums and sang lead on "Going Down" and "Find Your Own Way",, as well as backup on "Searchin'".   Matt played bass guitar on all songs and sang backup on "Searchin'" and "Going Down".  We wrote and rehearsed all of the songs over a two week period.

The lyrics are TERRIBLE.  But, at 16, 17 and 18 years old and with only two weeks to write and practice the songs for going into the studio, we didn't really have anything intelligent to say.
